MINNEAPOLIS, MN, January 12, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — Global Tax Network (GTN) announced several promotions within the company. Brett Sipes, formerly Branch Director has been named Managing Director for the GTN Pacific region. Lynn Carbo, formerly Senior Manager has been promoted to Director for the GTN Atlantic region. Tracy Novotny, formerly Senior Manager has been promoted to Director for the GTN West Central region.
“Brett, Lynn, and Tracy have taken significant strides in strengthening and developing their regions, each demonstrating a strong commitment to elevating our clients’ experiences,” stated Dave Kolb, President of GTN. “They have helped GTN expand our reach and will ensure GTN’s core values and vision are at the forefront of our everyday processes.”
Brett joined GTN in 2006 as Manager in the GTN West Central region where he provided expatriate and foreign national tax consulting and support. In 2014, Brett moved to San Diego where he took the lead role in building and developing the GTN Southern California office. He continued to attend, present at, and host a large number of industry events in the California area, further expanding the GTN Pacific region’s network. With his promotion to Managing Director, Brett will continue to be responsible for executing the strategic and business development plans for the entire Pacific region, which includes the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Nevada. Prior to joining GTN, Brett worked in the global mobility area and international executive services with two of the Big 4 accounting firms. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern College (now University of Northwestern) in 1997 and is an active Certified Public Accountant.
Lynn Carbo joined GTN in 2009 as a Senior Manager for GTN’s Atlantic region where she focuses on assignment and mobile employee planning with clients in the tax, HR and finance departments. She works with mobile employees inbound to, and outbound from the US for short-term and long-term assignments, as well as extended business travels or permanent transfers. With her promotion to Director, Lynn will continue to work with client teams to accomplish solutions to global challenges, as well as to help to build the GTN Atlantic region by focusing on client experiences, and continuing to mentor GTN staff to cultivate their potential. Lynn earned both her undergraduate degree in international business and her MBA from Villanova University. She is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the Pennsylvania Society of Enrolled Agents.
Tracy Novotny joined GTN in 2013 for GTN’s West Central region. Over the past 5 years, Tracy has focused on providing exceptional client service and finding ways to handle complicated cross-border tax scenarios in a straight-forward manner. Tracy is a thought leader on complex international tax topics and is one of the firm’s leading resources in areas such as FBAR, OVDI, and PFIC compliance. In her new role as Director, Tracy will continue to lead key accounts and focus on helping build the GTN West Central region. She earned her undergraduate degree from Metropolitan State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
In addition to these promotions, GTN also announced two executive leadership promotions, as well as seven other promotions throughout the company that came into effect as of January 1, 2018.
