Afghanistan’s past was better compared to the present states Meladul Haq Ahmadzai, Taleam’s CEO. He offers fresh updates on the situation, a voice for peace, and potential benefits for Afghan people.

OTTAWA, ON, April 21, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — “The past was better but not fully appreciated,” says Meladul Haq AHMADZAI, CEO of Taleam Systems.

In the past, international organizations were doing important work like improving education and health for the people of Afghanistan. Ahmadzai adds, “It was a lot better than what it is today.” For most part, institutions run by the government and private sector seemed to be working very well – all thanks to the investment being made by international donors.

In 2020, former U.S. President Donald Trump signaled to reduce military footprint in Afghanistan when he visited to Bagram airbase for the first time. According to Ahmadzai, “I thank him for visiting my country for trying very hard to help the Afghans.”

Today, in Afghanistan, the Taliban are in charge of power. Ahmadzai adds, “It has been almost two years since they took charge of power and as a result of their leadership, most western people from Kabul city have already left or have a desire to leave as per the ground situation.” Life has not been good in the country as two-thirds of the population is living in poverty. The health and all aspects of life have deteriorated since the Taliban gained power in August 2021.
