Now, a Friulian-language song is making history, reaching radio stations across continents — a first for the Friulian language and the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. This unprecedented event serves as a powerful reminder of the vitality of minority

CODROIPO, ITALY, April 08, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Friulian language, a Romance language spoken in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region by approximately 800,000 people, boasts ancient origins. Distinctly different from Italian, Friulian stems from an archaic form of Aquileian Latin and contains Celtic, Slavic, and Germanic influences.

Angelo Seretti, a crooner known for his elegant vocal style, surprises audiences with an innovative project: “Ma ce biele ca è la vite” (“How Beautiful Life Is”), the first song of his career performed entirely in Friulian. Based on a poem by writer Pierina Gallina, this piece uniquely blends music, culture, and solidarity, taking the “Marilenghe” beyond national borders with its fresh sound and captivating rhythm.

Crooners like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and more recently Michael Bublé, are renowned for their refined, intimate style. Angelo Seretti, with his versatile voice, fits seamlessly into this tradition, adding a modern and personal touch to his repertoire.

Having performed on prestigious stages across Europe and singing in six languages, Seretti has topped both Italian and international radio charts. In 2019, he achieved the No. 1 spot on the MEI chart with his song “Fuga dal pianeta terra”. His music has been broadcast by international radio and TV stations, showcasing his ability to connect with a global audience. Seretti has also collaborated on several songs with famed Italian singer Bobby Solo.

Speaking about the project, Angelo explained:

“Until now, the Friulian language has often been relegated to lowbrow parodies, but I see the Friulian people as proud, with a rich musical and poetic tradition. Perhaps our introverted nature has kept us from being easily known, but I hope this song will change that, bringing the public closer to our language and culture.”

The musical composition, created by Angelo Seretti himself, stands out for its subtle reggae influences, moving away from traditional Friulian musical stereotypes and introducing a fresh, modern feel. This artistic choice makes Friulian music more accessible to younger and international audiences, breaking down linguistic and cultural barriers.

Proceeds from the song will be donated to ALPI, a non-profit organization supporting children with respiratory problems.

“I wanted this project to be not just a cultural tribute but also a tangible act of help for those less fortunate,” the singer added.

Pierina Gallina, the poet from Codroipo (Udine) who inspired the song, has published nine books and won numerous literary awards. Thanks to this collaboration, her work finds a new form of expression through music.

“Ma ce biele ca è la vite” is already available on YouTube and major digital platforms, accompanied by a video that captures the song’s authentic essence. Angelo invites everyone to listen and share the track, helping to promote the Friulian language and support the charitable cause.

The song’s global broadcast marks an extraordinary milestone for Friuli Venezia Giulia. The recording and arrangement were handled by Massimo Passon at Master Studio, where Angelo is set to record new songs soon.

With this new endeavor, Angelo Seretti once again showcases his talent, versatility, and commitment to culture and solidarity. He proudly states that the entire project is the result of the creative efforts of himself and his collaborators, with no use of artificial intelligence.

Follow him on social media to discover upcoming initiatives and continue supporting his remarkable artistic journey.

The production also features Friulian native David Marchetti, winner of Sanremo Giovani in 2002 with the song “Doppiamente Fragili”, performed by Anna Tatangelo.

The music video is now available on YouTube.
