“Dr. K” to many, Dr. Khazanchi is a gastroenterologist with Premiere GI, where he diagnoses and treats gastrointestinal conditions that include acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, hemorrhoids, Barrett’s esophagus, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, and colon polyps.
He has special expertise in managing gallbladder and biliary (bile duct) issues, such as gallstones, cholecystitis, biliary dyskinesia, gangrene, gallbladder cancer, cholangiopathy, jaundice, and pancreatitis highlights his proficiency in his field.
Dr. Khazanchi is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with subspecialty certification in gastroenterology and hepatology.
He performs procedures — many minimally invasive — that include upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), esophageal dilation, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
Dr. Khazanchi is one of the region’s few doctors who takes tissue samples (biopsies) to diagnose conditions of the rectum, lungs, pancreas, and esophagus.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Khazanchi serves as an associate clinical professor of medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine. He has also been the principal investigator on more than 30 liver studies — along with producing associated publications — from 2020 to 2022. His involvement as the principal investigator for clinical trials focused on semaglutide for NASH and weight loss — as well as trials related to Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and celiac disease — shows his dedication to advancing medical research and improving treatment options for patients with these conditions.
Dr. Khazanchi earned his medical degree at St. George’s School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed three years of internal medicine training as well as a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology (Digestive Health Institute of Philadelphia) at The Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University Hospital and the University of Montreal.
He also holds both MS and BS degrees — in molecular genetics and biology, respectively — from the University of Houston.
